The Trees Are Soldiers Version Notes
⠀⠀
1.0
I started writing these stories when I was fifteen. Nearly two decades later, I carved away their blubber and clumsier sentences, then set up the shards that remained so that their forward tumbling would slice out a portrait of my mind at the time, a neon and obsidian knife-tracing of my teenaged face.
The base material for this book is about five times as long. In particular, the aphorisms were all parts of much lengthier pieces not worth preserving in full.
Nearly every word of every sentence has been revised, but in the character of my younger self.
